Outright Picks
We all know how difficult it is to pick the winner of an event. You can go on long losing runs with outright picks and it is vital to take a long term view. All it takes is 1st place to wipe out the last 6 or 7 losses. And a couple of winners can put you in profit for the season. We are 10 grand in profit on outright picks this year. However there have been 2 grand downswings.

Match Bets
Match bets provide less variance then outright picks and can be beaten if you do enough research. Most bookmakers don't view there golf books as that important and you inevitably find some match-ups, where the odds do not represent the chances.

 

Staking
I would advise against changing stakes too much as inevitably you win the small ones and lose the big ones.  I would also advice against any kind of cumulative or chase your losses staking plans.  I think level stakes is best and gradually increase your stakes as you build your bank and confidence in what you are doing.

Betting Accounts
Open as many betting accounts as possible. I also recommend opening accounts on the betting exchanges Betfair and Betdaq as you can often find better prices available there.
